Carolina Grill

Blowin' on the Fire
In 1989, Chuck was asked to help open the very first Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill franchise in the state of Indiana. After opening Applebee's in 1990, Chuck then led Dalts, (at Keystone at the Crossing) to become one of the best restaurants in the Indianapolis area. His reputation and standing in Indianapolis finally led him to Zionsville, Indiana. Twelve years ago, in 1992, Chuck opened The Friendly Tavern on Main Street.

Ready for the Meat

Chuck quickly became part of the Zionsville Community. With his customers always raving about his dishes, he and his staff quickly put "The Friendly Tavern" on the map as a Hoosier Favorite. Chuck's hard work and desire to break out on his own led him to open the First Carolina Grill in 2003. The Original Grill became known for the best breaded tenderloin in the State of Indiana. From great steaks, fresh burgers, wings, homemade onion rings and his famous hot sauce, Chuck's style of cooking has become famous throughout the state.

Time to Flip
With award winning food, long-time loyal customers, and the desire to offer more... the time for a move became apparent. In 2007, the Carolina Grill began relocating to the much heralded Traditional Neighborhood Development of Stonegate, in Zionsville, Indiana. While anchoring the Village Shoppes, the Carolina Grill at Stonegate will offer great food, drinks and service in a casual family atmosphere unlike any other. Boasting traditional 1880's architecture, one of a kind atmosphere, scenic views, and vintage appeal, the Carolina Grill is quickly becoming a destination location to the Indianapolis Area. Chuck is offering menu items including a broad sampling of appetizers, his famous sandwiches, and fresh entrees served in generous "Indiana Style" portions.

Is it done yet? Bring it on!
The Carolina Grill takes pride in welcoming all its customers to dine at street level. If you're looking for an adult-only atmosphere, you'll enjoy the Speak Easy lower level, called "The Tap Room." Bring in your own stein or we'll have one waiting for you. Walk into the lower level, marked by the Frogs with Top Hats. Savor your stein at our hand-carved oak bar while enjoying all of the same great food served upstairs... but without the kids! Chuck and his wife Carrie, have a new son named Quentin, and that's right, even they want a night on the town without the kids.

Damn Good.
Extra attention to detail and making people feel welcome are the special ingredients at the Carolina Grill and Tap Room. Chuck will be serving them up daily. Hoosier Hospitality and southern style cooking at its finest.
